DIY felt/fabric hair clip

what you need:
felt, fabric, button, barrette or clip, hot glue, pinking shears

cut two squares of felt with pinking shears (I fold the felt in half to cut), then cut one square of fabric slightly smaller.

hot glue the two pieces of felt together and then the fabric on top

hot glue button on top of fabric... I hope you haven't burnt yourself yet!!

hot glue fabric to barrette.

you did it!

I wore this to a St Patty's Day party.  People loved it.

DIY felt heart clip

ah... in the spirit of Valentine's day and all things heart-shaped, I've decided to give a hearty DIY.

cut out 2 felt hearts.
I did this freehanded, but if your freehanded heart is wonky, click here.

using a contrasting thread color, sew your hearts together.

it should now look like this.

bust out your hot glue and a clip.
glue clip on diagonally... or however you like.
I like diagonal.

boom.
clip it on.
it would be a super cool hair clip, too!

I've really been needing some new hair accessories, so I sat down and threw these together pretty quickly.

buttons, hot glue, and bobby pins.

something tells me I'm into something good.

too much time has passed. I went to massage school and took a hiatus from blogging... but now I'm back. I'm just going to go with my most recent cool thing...

My friend Robbie is a hula hoop maniac. She makes and sells hula hoops and even teaches hula hoop classes. She recently attended a hula hoop workshop where she sold hoops and some other items. She asked me if I would be interested in selling my feather headbands there, so I made a few for her to sell. Here she is modeling one of my feathers...

and here are some pics of my feathers that were taken at the workshop...

bottle bottoms

I got inspired a few months ago when I found a project on Etsy where the artist cut the bottoms off of plastic bottles and decoupaged them to make a brooch/pendant/cool piece of art.  So here's my take on it.

I put a little clip on the back to attach the bottoms to a necklace or a pin or a barrette.

Maybe a new hot seller???
