DIY number one cake topper

photo props are easy to make and can make your photo shoot more exciting.
here is a tutorial on how to make an easy cake topper.
(you could do this with any number letter or simple shape)

use card stock to trace or draw a number one.

cut them both out.

place a skewer, popsicle stick, lollipop stick, or whatever you have on hand that may emulate one of this items.  I twisted some craft wire and used that.  boom!

mod podge + glitter = FUN!

voila!  reusable and super cute for a first anniversary photo shoot!

one.

A year ago today we were gettin' hitched!
I'm so glad I found such an awesome person to spend the rest of my life with.
I couldn't think of anyone to match me more perfectly.
Excited to spend many more years as wonderful as the first!!

I love you, Mister!!!

wedding picture project

Mister got me this distressed frame when we got married and it has been so naked for the past 10 months so I decided to dress it up.

I used Picnik to edit some of our wedding pics into a cool retro black and white, then I cropped them into squares.

It cost less than $5 (including shipping) to print them on Shutterfly as 4x6 prints (not bad considering some other sites who would charge at least $1 per print.  I had 16 printed.)

Still have a ton of leftover jute twine from the big day.

yay!
cutesy pootsy!

things that are red.

the other night, david and I were sitting around the house in our flannel pants and decided to go take pictures of each other with things that are red.  Not the best candids, but here they are anyway....

for sale!!

 a pretty red bow!

hiding behind a bush of berries.

we found some red nail polish in the car.

a chinese buffet... always quite red!

the chiropractor... showing up a little orange, but definitely red in person.

we finally found the perfect stop sign!

that's 11:20pm... shouldn't it be a little cooler than 52 degrees?

I look like I have a really thick sideburn.

red umbrellas on sale!!  We should go back when this store is open!

david does love a good coke.

winn dixie... a dying breed.

black and white and red all over!

we saw Santa in a yard so I ran and stood by him while David stayed in the car and took the pic.  I'm so glad no one came out with a shotgun!  I wish the picture had've turned out better.

Not too bad for a completely random night!

light tent

I got a new camera for Christmas.  It is really nice and I'm really excited about it.  I can now try to take even better pictures of the things that I make.  Today, I made a light tent to use as a background for my items.  Here are some pictures of it...

the box with a light.

David puts a scrabble tile in the box.

still working on making the lighting perfect, but not to shabby.

I hope everyone and anyone who reads my blog had a great Christmas or whatever other holiday you may celebrate!!!
