weekend craftiness

this weekend, my friend Bethany and I decided to do a Pinterest project.  She's been wanting to make a yarn wrapped wreath and I could definitely use a new fall wreath, so...

here I am wrapping my wreath

this was our progress after a few hours so I went home and we finished our wreaths separately

my recycled bag.

I get way too many catalogs in the mail... my most recent that has been sitting on my end table closest to the front door is Urban Outiftters... so instead of chunking it, I made a bag out of it.

this is the beginning of it.
strips of urban outfitters cut and folded and starting to get woven together.

done with the first side... now on to the second.
this is using a lot of hot glue!

now adding a border with some old card stock I had laying around.
trying to make the edges look a little more finished.

added some yarn for a strap.

my finished recycled bag!
looks better than I expected it to!

maybe I'll make another... just got 2 more catalogs in the mail.

scarf it up!

So I can't stop knitting scarves. I think it may be time for me to move on to something a little more advanced but I can whip them up so quickly and then take a headless pic of myself and sell them on etsy... why would I stop??
