(not so) spicy thai noodles

the mister hates spicy food.  it doesn't balance out his fiery personality.
so when I found this recipe, I knew he may put up a fight.

"what are you making?"
"oh just this thai noodle dish"
"is it spicy?"
geez, why does he always ask this question.

I used very few red pepper flakes.
in turn, my noodles were a little bland, but mister was happy and his personality remained balanced.

good flavor combination... recipe here.

taco night!

we love Mexican food.  we love it.
the mister has been wanting to have taco night for a few weeks and we did it.

I found a pin to this recipe for homemade taco seasoning... tastes just like the seasoning you get in the store and you can make a ton of it if you want to keep having taco nights OR just enough for your meal.

tomatoes, cheese, shredded lettuce
yay for toppings!

that's fake meat trying to masquerade as real ground beef.
don't let it fool you, fool.

all together now.

delish.  we inhaled it and decided we should have more taco nights.

roasted chickpeas

I went to a party for New Year's and these were served.  I knew the recipe came from Pinterest.  I knew it.  So I found the recipe and decided to make them myself for the Superbowl party we went to last night.

recipe here.

spices.

chickpeas (roasted).

spices and chickpeas.

not a bad snack when you're searching for a little something healthy!

black bean and mushroom chili

inspired by this pin.

I saw this and I had to make it.  I didn't want to make it in the slow cooker because we didn't have time.  So I just cooked it in a big pot (dutch oven... whatever)
A little spicy so if you're weird about spices... eliminate the chipotle peppers with adobo sauce and you should be okay.

we like cheese in our house.

mmm.

peas and curry

Sometimes I just need some spice in my mouth... so that's when I decided to smell up David's house with the flavorful aroma of curry. I found a recipe for chickpea curry a long time ago that I love and decided to pull it out of the archives and make it happen.... here's what went down.

sauteed onions.

spice.

chickpeas... and yes, Bush's contributed to my Indian recipe!!!

rice, more spice, a totally 80's plate, and a fork.

Indian food makes you drink plenty of water... so when dehydrated, eat more curry!!!
