quinoa black bean burgers

these little meatless patties really dirtied up my kitchen...

gettin' crispy

it's always better with cheese.
and it looks like a finger peeking out from under that cheese, but it's not.  I swear.  I wouldn't be able to call it Meatless Monday otherwise.

dinner served!

Oscar loves Modern Warfare 3

he can't get enough.

*Oscar's loves do not reflect the opinions of that's mellifluous and it's associates

ah... oui oui!

We had out of town guests come visit us last weekend and I got up and fixed breakfast for us all.  When you make your toast on a baguette, it really makes you feel good about yourself.

so no more sliced bread.  Baguettes are the way to go.

au revoir!

garlic mushroom tortellini

meatless wednesday???

We made this for our Valentine's dinner last week.

because there's nothing less romantic than waiting hours to be seated at a restaurant and then herded in to eat some fancy overpriced special.

ah!  romantico!

recipe here.

Oscar loves getting rid of old dresses

Oscar, you can't keep them all.  We have to make space in the closet.

love hangover

yesterday was Valentine's Day... just in case you forgot.
We don't really go all out for V-day and we didn't really plan on celebrating it, but I had a little pocket of time yesterday afternoon so I made some nutella rice krispies treats and cut them out like hearts.
Mister could live in a house of these things and he'd probably eat the walls down and be homeless.

We also got a nice treat from our new culinary school friend...

orange chiffon cake.
score.
she's going to make me fat.

DIY felt heart clip

ah... in the spirit of Valentine's day and all things heart-shaped, I've decided to give a hearty DIY.

cut out 2 felt hearts.
I did this freehanded, but if your freehanded heart is wonky, click here.

using a contrasting thread color, sew your hearts together.

it should now look like this.

bust out your hot glue and a clip.
glue clip on diagonally... or however you like.
I like diagonal.

boom.
clip it on.
it would be a super cool hair clip, too!
